Getting Started If you have finally decided to incorporate your business, the first step is to file the proper articles of incorporation and pay all of your initial fees. By using BizFilings, you can go through these steps quickly and easily. After all of your articles of incorporation have been filed, your corporation must hold an organizational meeting where all of your bylaws will be adopted and the incorporation process is completed. The shareholders will then receive their certificates of ownership and all of these transactions should be recorded on the corporation’s stock ledger. These are the type of records that I mentioned earlier that corporations are responsible for keeping track of in the corporate record books. BizFilings does offer what they call a “corporate kit” which they say has all the information and paperwork needed in order to make all this go a little smoother. After a corporation has been formed, some states require that the corporation must publish a notice in the newspaper of the creation of the newly formed corporation or LLC. Some states that require this are: Arizona, Nebraska, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and New York. When you file your paperwork with BizFilings, they will complete the publication requirement for you (with the exception of New York LLC’s). |
